Valerie Egan

Director of Learning and Development

Valerie Egan is currently Director of Learning & Development for the Girl Scouts of USA, a role that she transitioned into last year. With this shift, she has expanded her reach into the Talent Management and Learning Function for GSUSA.
 
During her first 3 years at the Girl Scouts, Valerie served as Senior Direction of Talent Acquisition. In this role, she provided the overall strategic direction for the design, planning, delivery and ongoing assessment of a strategic and competitive, best-in-class Talent Acquisition function. She supported the organizational mission, strategies and goals to position GSUSA as a thriving leading employer of choice. She was also a hands-on leader and doer, where she planned, directed, and participated in the execution of innovative sourcing, selection and onboarding of top talent from around the Nation. She provided vision, strategic leadership, and practical experience to the talent acquisition infrastructure while serving as a thought partner to HR and other functional business leaders.
 
In this role she was responsible for the Talent Acquisition function for GSUSA. She provided day to day oversight to the team as well as provided strategic direction to identify process improvements and enhance candidate experience.  She also worked closely with the contingent workforce as this was a source of hires for open vacancies. Before joining GSUSA, Valerie was Head of Resourcing, North America for Linde.  She managed the staffing function and provided oversight to an outsourced vendor in an RPO environment. She has also worked for organizations including Aon Consulting, AT&T and Merrill Lynch managing the talent acquisition function.
 
She holds a BS from St. Peter’s College and an MBA from Pace University. She has been involved with HRO Today Services and Technology Association for several years and currently serves on the North American Board.  Valerie is the recipient of the 2018 HRO Today’s Talent Acquisition Leader of the Year Award for Non-Profits and 2019 HRO Today’s HR Excellence Award for Thought Leader – Non-Profits.
